About

Zambia is situated in Southern Africa and has a population of  over 14 million people. Although the country has made great strides in improving access to improved forms of sanitation, currently an estimated 14% of the population practices open defecation, while and additional 27% of the population uses unimproved forms of sanitation (WHO/UNICEF, 2015).

Several SHARE projects have taken place in Zambia to date. As of 2015, Zambia has become a focus country for SHARE and, in the coming three years, we will be working through our partners on the theme of urban sanitation.

BUILDING KNOWLEDGE. IMPROVING THE WASH SECTOR.
