This conference is jointly organised by Tanzania National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR) and the Southern African Centre for Infectious Disease Surveillance. NIMR is the co-ordinating organisation for SHARE's National Research Platform in Tanzania.
The conference aims to promote health research for sustainable socio-economic development in Africa, share research findings with the key stakeholders and the general public and discuss and explore new health service and research priority areas. This year's theme is “Changing landscape for Health Research in Africa', and the deadline for abstracts in 8th November 2012. Please go to the conference website for further details.

1. One Health Approach in Addressing Inter-species Infectious Diseases in Sub-Saharan Africa
2. HIV/AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis and Neglected Communicable Diseases
3. Non-communicable diseases in a changing environment in Sub-Saharan Africa
4. Health Systems
5. Socio-economic determinants of health
In addition there will be symposia on:
1. Research for Lymphatic Filariasis control in Eastern and Southern Africa
2. Progress on Sanitation and Hygiene Interventions in East Africa.
Call for abstracts
The Conference Secretariat invites the submission of abstracts, with the deadline of 8th November 2012. Abstracts should be submitted by the deadlines for consideration. Acceptance and mode of presentation of abstracts will be determined by the Scientific Committee. Authors of accepted abstracts will be required to submit full papers which will be peer reviewed for publication in the conference proceedings.
